Sarah had just come down an inflatable slide during her primary school’s fun day and was getting up to leave the area, when another pupil came down and knocked her over. Sarah fractured her leg in the accident and required metalwork to be inserted to correct the damage. This later needed removing in a further surgical procedure and she has been left with scarring from the operations.
Sarah’s mother asked us to represent her daughter in a claim against the school for their failure to provide safe supervision of the equipment.
The school admitted liability and after we submitted medical evidence their Insurers put forward an offer to settle for £15,000. Following tough negotiations, we secured Sarah £19,500 compensation which, as with all child compensation claims in the UK, was approved by a Court and invested on Sarah’s behalf until she reaches her 18th birthday.
